What might you see on a Jet Ski tour around the Cedar Point area?
With the Intracoastal waterway, White Oak River, and the Atlantic ocean all in our backyard the Cedar Point area is replete with beautiful waterways.
You can cruise by the restaurants and shops of historic Swansboro, or check out the homes on “The Point” of Emerald Isle. You are likely to see birds of many different species, fishing boats of all sizes, and Marine Corps aircraft of one type or another while cruising the Crystal Coast. While it is true that moving sandbars and oyster beds can make boating tricky, that doesn’t spoil the beauty and diversity you get to enjoy.
As you head towards Stella, the White Oak river narrows and you can take in grasslands which slowly turn into forests full of beautiful trees. There are a small number of houses, fish camps, and campgrounds along the way but a majority of the river is uninhabited and it makes you feel like you have it all yourself.
The Intracoastal Waterway offers sights like the Emerald Isle Bridge, Bogue and Brown’s inlets. The beautiful sand dunes and marshes are full of wildlife and usually a good number of fisherman seeking their daily catch. Be sure to watch the tide because the marshes can run out of depth real quick!
Finally, you can take in the Atlantic Ocean. The inlets are not easy to navigate, but the views can be very worthwhile. Depending upon the swell and the day’s wind, Jet Skiers can enjoy waves that are tons of fun.
